A woman accused of killing her boyfriend will appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
The victim, 31-year-old Xichavo Ntsanwisi, originally from Mhinga village outside Malamulele, was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend during a lover’s quarrel at Colnbrook Estate in Noordwyk, Midrand.
Ntsanwisi was found lying on the kitchen floor with a stab wound to the upper chest.
On Tuesday, the Greater Giyani Municipality confirmed that Ntsanwisi had worked as a technician for the municipality.
The executive mayor of the Greater Giyani Municipality, Thandi Zidi, expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the municipality in a message shared on social media.
“We woke up to the devastating news of the passing of our employee, Mr. Xichavo Ntsan’wisi, who allegedly died at the hands of his girlfriend after she fatally stabbed him,” Zidi said.
Greater Giyani municipality spokesperson, Steve Mavunda said: “He joined the municipality on 01st August 2022 as a technician attached to project management until he met his untimely death. He was a very respecting and hard working young man.”
“The mayor urged law enforcement agencies to ensure justice for Xichavo, stating that they are not alone in mourning the loss of this young life that was brutally cut short.”
The Midrand police said the woman was arrested after police had received a complaint of a stabbing.
“On arrival, police found a man with a stab wound on the upper body. Preliminary investigation led to the arrest of a woman who was reported to be the girlfriend of the deceased,” Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo said.
