The City of Tshwane has extended heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery to award-winning South African music star Makhadzi, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, following confirmation that she was involved in a car accident while travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg on the morning of December 31.
In a statement with Hotsauce Productions, the city said: “The City of Tshwane, together with Hotsauce Productions, wishes the renowned artist and phenomenal dancer Makhadzi a speedy recovery.”
Makhadzi was scheduled to headline the #TshwaneNYE2025 crossover event later that evening.
Makhadzi Entertainment, her management company, confirmed that the star is currently receiving medical care in hospital.
Her condition is stable, and she remains under close observation by medical professionals.
“The priority at this time is her recovery and well-being. We respectfully request privacy for Makhadzi and her family during this period,” the company said.
Known for her electrifying stage presence and chart-topping hits such as Kokota and Matorokisi, Makhadzi has become one of South Africa’s most celebrated contemporary artists.
She has won multiple awards, including accolades at the South African Music Awards, and built a loyal fan base through her vibrant performances and ability to connect with audiences across the country.
