CHAIRPERSON of Parliament’s portfolio committee on Trade, Industry and Competition, Duma Nkosi, has died.
Nkosi died on Thursday at the age of 64.
Nkosi served as a member of the nation’s first democratic Parliament and went on to become the mayor of Ekurhuleni from 2001 to 2008.
At the time of his death, Nkosi, who hails from Thokoza in Ekurhuleni, was a member of National Assembly.
He previously served as chairperson of the portfolio committee on trade and industry and was also a member of the ANC in Gauteng.
City of Ekurhuleni mayor Tania Campbell said she was deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Nkosi.
