Dhlamini says he only passed tender- related info to Nkosi

Suspended Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) deputy chief Umashi Dhlamini has conceded that he repeatedly passed information between suspended Organised Crime Sergeant Fannie Nkosi and Tshwane CFO Gareth Mnisi, but shifted blame to the latter, claiming that Nkosi was an “extension” of Mnisi in sensitive financial matters, including the controversial security tender linked to Gubis85 Solutions.

Returning to the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Tuesday, Dhlamini acknowledged that he communicated with the CFO through Nkosi, despite the latter being a member of the public with no formal role in municipal financial processes.

“As I indicated, the CFO saw it fit that he must use Sergeant Nkosi to communicate with me. He made Sergeant Nkosi his extension,” Dhlamini said.

Malatji under fire over claimed ignorance of tender irregularities

Suspended Director of Assets at the Tshwane Metro Police Department, Tshukudu Malatji, has come under fire at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry for conflicting testimony, as the commission continues to probe a controversial multi-million rand security tender.

Appearing on Thursday, Malatji initially maintained that no concerns about irregularities were ever brought to his attention during the Bid Evaluation Committee (BEC) process.

“I can assure the Commissioner and this Commission that from the beginning to the end, we never had a situation where there was a complaint to the effect that documents were tampered with, and so forth and so on. We just waited. We waited for a very long time,” Malatji said.

Tshwane police chief Yolande Faro distances herself from tainted tender deal

Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) chief Yolande Faro told the Madlanga Commission on Wednesday that the service level agreement with El Shadai Security Services was signed during her leave without her first seeing the document or a list of successful bidders.

Faro was being taken through evidence by advocate Mpilo Sikhakhane that appeared to show possible outside influence over a City of Tshwane land invasion security tender, when she made the remarks.

ANC North West regional secretary, ward councillor, driver in court for tender kickback

An ANC North West regional secretary, a ward councilor and a driver appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court for allegedly demanding a kickback for a tender from a local businessman.

Regional secretary Raymond Mogaile, 42, Madibeng municipality ward councillor Peter Legong, 39, and Menzi Mngadi, 42, from Brits in the Madibeng Municipality were remanded in custody fo further investigation.

Hawks spokesperson Colonel Mogale said the trio will next appear again on December 15 2025.

They were arrested by the Hawks on Thursday by the Anti-Corruption Investigation after a businessman alerted the police about the extortion move by the two politicians and the driver promising him the advertised tender.

It is alleged the trio we demanded a R300,000-00 from a local businessman, in exchance for the awarding of a tender

The tender had been advertised by the Madibeng Municipality during November 2025.
