Consumers will have to dig even deeper as the price of petrol is set to increase by 18 cents a litre Wednesday, 2 October.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy said a litre of 95 (ULP and LRP) will rise by 18 cents a litre while that of 93 (ULP and LRP) will decrease by 4 cents a litre.
Both grades of diesel (0.05% Sulphur) and diesel (0.005% Sulphur) will increase by 25 cents a litre.
The price of illuminating paraffin (wholesale) will increase by 25 cents per litre, while that of illuminating paraffin (SMNRP) will go up by 33 cents a litre.
The price adjustments will see a litre of 95 in Gauteng, which currently costs R16.03 a litre, go up to R16.21.
