Tshwane struggling to find title deed beneficiaries

The City of Tshwane is in possession of a large number of title deeds that are unclaimed by its residents due to difficulties in locating beneficiaries.

Human Settlements MMC Ofentse Madzebatela has encouraged beneficiaries without title deeds to visit their regional offices to enquire about the status of their documents.

The city distributed 197 title deeds to beneficiaries of Soshanguve Ext 6 in ward 90 on Thursday. To date, 2311 title deeds have been handed over in the area.

Madzebatela said a couple of months back they also visited the communities of Eersterus, Soshanguve Ext 10 and Elandspoort to handover title deeds.

“As the city we are proud to facilitate security of tenure for these beneficiaries and will continue to prioritise the handover of title deeds as we recognise the importance of giving ownership rights to beneficiaries,” he said in a statement.
