Two civilian women and two members of the Anti-Gang Unit tragically lost their lives in a shooting in Reiger Park, Ekurhuleni, on Saturday night, in a deadly incident that has once again placed the township’s persistent gang violence under the spotlight.
According to reports, the two police officers were responding to reports of a shooting in the area when they came under attack.
The preliminary information said the officers had first discovered two women who had been fatally shot inside a vehicle before they were ambushed.

One of the Anti-Gang Unit members died at the scene, while the second officer later succumbed to their injuries.
The incident happened in Reiger Park, an area that has faced recurring shootings and concerns over gang-related violence.
