Joburg gears up for Meetings Africa 2025 at Sandton Convention Centre

Johannesburg is set to solidify its status as Africa’s leading business tourism destination by hosting the 19th edition of Meetings Africa in 2025.

Organised by the South African National Convention Bureau (SANCB) and Joburg Tourism Company (JTC), the event will bring together global and African business event professionals, highlighting the city’s world-class conferencing facilities and networking opportunities.

“Meetings Africa is more than an event; it strengthens Johannesburg’s global reputation as a hub for business, trade, and innovation,” said Thandubuhle Mgudlwa, CEO of Joburg Tourism.

“Our goal is to attract high-profile events while ensuring lasting economic benefits for our communities and small enterprises.”

Johannesburg’s tourism sector continues to thrive, with 3.8 million visitors in 2023 contributing R61.8 billion to the economy, according to S&P Global.

The city’s resilience and innovation have made it a preferred host for major international events, including the G20 and U20 Summits, the World Union of Wholesale
