South Africans can expect a mostly dry and settled winter week, with cold mornings, mild to warm afternoons and showers largely confined to parts of the eastern coastline, according to the South African Weather Service.
The outlook for Monday to Friday shows that most of the country will remain fine and cool to warm, although frost is possible over parts of the central and northern interior.
KwaZulu-Natal and parts of the Eastern Cape are expected to experience the most unsettled conditions, with partly cloudy skies and isolated showers or rain possible along the coast.
On Monday and Tuesday, conditions will be partly cloudy in places but otherwise fine and cool to warm across much of the country.
The interior is expected to remain largely dry, with cold morning temperatures followed by milder conditions during the afternoon.
By Wednesday, isolated showers and rain may develop in places, particularly over the eastern and coastal regions, while most of the central and western interior remains fine.
The inland provinces are expected to remain mostly settled through Thursday and Friday, although cloudier and cooler conditions may persist along parts of the southern and eastern coastline.

Johannesburg
Johannesburg can expect a dry week, with mostly clear or partly cloudy skies. Mornings will remain cold, but temperatures should recover to mild levels during the afternoons.
Tshwane
Tshwane is expected to remain fine and dry for most of the week. Cold mornings will give way to generally mild or warm afternoons, with little prospect of significant rainfall.
Ekurhuleni
Mostly fine and dry conditions are forecast across Ekurhuleni. Residents can expect cold starts, particularly in low-lying areas, followed by mild afternoon temperatures.
Cape Town
Cape Town will remain cool, with fine to partly cloudy conditions during the week. Cloud cover may become more noticeable later in the week, particularly along the coastline.
eThekwini
eThekwini is expected to experience the most unsettled weather among the metros. Partly cloudy conditions and isolated showers or rain are possible along the coast, while daytime temperatures will remain cool to mild.
Mangaung
Mangaung can expect fine and dry weather, with cold and possibly frosty mornings. Afternoon temperatures will be milder, although conditions will remain distinctly wintry.
Nelson Mandela Bay
Nelson Mandela Bay is expected to be cool and partly cloudy at times. Conditions may become breezy along the coast, with a possibility of isolated showers as the week progresses.
Buffalo City
Buffalo City can expect partly cloudy and cool conditions, with isolated showers or rain possible along the coast. Inland parts of the metro should remain drier.
